Beginner Ballet Foundations
Thursdays, 20:10–21:10 · £32.50 for 5 weeks
Learn ballet’s basic positions, steps and technique, and build strength, posture and grace along the way.
No experience needed. Every course is designed for complete beginners, or anyone coming back after a long break.
Join at the start of any course. Courses run on a rolling 5-week cycle, so there’s always another one coming up. The next start dates are shown on each course page.
Not sure yet? Try week 1 as a one-off taster for £7.50, then book the remaining 4 weeks for £26 if you love it. Courses can’t be joined after week 1, so everyone builds the basics together.
Can’t make every week?Get in touch and we’ll work out the best option for you.
For adults aged 17+. If you’re 16 and would like to join, please get in touch first.
After your course
Finish your course and your first Level 1 class is free. Once you’ve finished, you’ll be ready for our weekly Level 1 and Open Level classes, where you can keep building on what you’ve learned, at your own pace. See our adult dance class timetable.
Fancy commercial / street dance instead?
Our Level 1 Commercial Street Dance class is suitable for complete beginners, so there’s no course to take first. Just book a class and come along.
Questions beginners often ask
I’ve never danced before. Will I be the only one?
Not at all. Everyone on a beginner course is starting out too, and our teachers go at a pace that suits the group.
What should I wear?
Something comfortable you can move in. Each course page tells you what footwear you’ll need.
Am I too old to start?
Never. Our adult dancers range from 17 to people in their 50s and 60s.
