Dance studio hire in Sheffield

Three bright, well-equipped dance studios in Shalesmoor, just by Kelham Island and a short walk from Sheffield city centre. Hire by the half hour, the day or every week, for classes, rehearsals, castings, shoots, performances and more.

How you book depends on what you’re hiring for.

Personal hire: book online

For your own practice, rehearsal or training, on your own or with friends. Book and pay online, from 30 minutes up to a full day.

  • Studio 1: £13.00 per hour

  • Studio 2: £13.00 per hour

  • Studio 3: £11.50 per hour

Commercial hire: get a quote

For anything run as a business or paid work: running your own classes or workshops, film, TV and photo shoots, productions and performances, castings, corporate events and training. Tell us what you’re planning and we’ll send you a quote, with discounts for regular weekly hires and block bookings.

Hire slots are offered around our own timetable. If you’re running classes, we’d love them to add something new alongside ours rather than repeat what we already teach.

Hype Dance studio hirer

Dance studio 1

Size: about 10m × 7.5m (75m²)

Best for: classes of up to around 20, full company rehearsals, castings, photo shoots and exhibitions

Bright and airy, with a full wall of windows. Sprung hardwood floor, a full wall of mirrors, ballet barres along three walls plus free-standing barres, and a sound system with Bluetooth and 3.5mm jack inputs.

Dance studio 2

Size: about 10m × 7.5m (75m²)

Best for: everything Studio 1 is, plus small shows, screenings and events

The same size and kit as Studio 1, but it can also be set up as a small theatre, with a stage area, black backdrop, DMX-controlled lighting rig and seating for up to 50. There’s a projector and screen too, so it works well for screenings, live-event watch parties, conferences and training.

We run our own Christmas shows and cabaret evenings here, and hirers have used it for hafla nights, birthday parties, private performances, poetry and music nights and theatre shows.

Dance studio 3

Size: about 5.5m × 5m (27.5m²)

Best for: private lessons, one-to-one training, groups of up to 4, small rehearsals and meetings.

A full wall of mirrors, wall-mounted ballet barres and a sound system with Bluetooth and 3.5mm jack inputs.

For personal practice or rehearsal, book and pay online. For commercial hire, including your own classes, shoots, productions and events, get in touch and we’ll send a quote.

Not sure which applies to you?

If anyone is paying you, or you’re charging others, for what happens in the studio, it’s commercial hire. If in doubt, ask us and we’ll point you the right way.

When can I hire?

Monday–Friday 10:00–21:15, Saturday 09:00–16:00, Saturday evenings and Sundays by arrangement.
