The next annual dance show will be held on Saturday 14th June 2025 at the Drama Studio Theatre in Sheffield.

This will be a full production, telling a story and immersing the audience throughout. All of the classes at the academy, both adults and juniors, will come together to perform various excerpts themed and inspired by The Wizard of Oz.

We will run the same show twice with a matinee and evening show – all students will take part in both shows (please let us know as soon as possible if you can only perform in one of the shows).

Please make sure to read through the FAQ’s below, and we’ll regularly update this page as and when we have more details to share with you but for now… Make sure you SAVE THE DATE!

From Monday 2nd June all drop-in classes will be closed show rehearsal classes. You will not be able to book them online as usual – instead you will be invoiced for these classes and your costume hire via email. Please keep a look out in your inbox!

Which classes take part in the show?

ALL classes have the opportunity to take part in the show APART FROM the beginner course students.

How do I register to take part in the show?

Your class tutor will be talking to you about it in class and will be taking a list of names. Once you have committed to taking part there can be no dropouts otherwise you’ll loose your costume hire fees.

What if I can only do 1 of 2 the shows?

This is fine, but please make sure to let your tutor know this straight away so that they can plan accordingly.

Is there a fee to take part in the show?

No, there is no fee to take part in our annual dance show. We do charge a costume hire fee though. The cost will depending on what you hire from us – details will be given to each class well in advance.

Is there a deadline to sign up to take part in the show?

Yes, the deadline for students to sig up to take part is 25th April 2025.

Can I still come to class if I’m not taking part in the show?

Yes! The class will still contain technique as well as choreography. You can still come along and learn the show routine even if you won’t be performing it on stage.

There may be a couple of lessons near to the show date where we ask for only people taking part in the show to attend, but we’ll let you know of these dates well in advance.

How do I buy tickets for the show?

Tickets will go on sale from 1st April and will be available to buy on our website – click the blue button near the top of the page.

When will I receive my ticket(s)?

We don’t send out tickets, your name (and number of tickets bought) will be added to our list and we’ll check your details against our list when you arrive at the venue. Simply tell us the name of the person who bought the tickets.

How long does the show typically last?

The show typically lasts for around 2 hours, with a 15 minute interval half way through.

Will there be a DVD / video of the show?

Yes, one of the shows will be filmed and a DVD / digital download will be available to buy. We will release further details nearer the time.

Will there be photographs of the show available to buy?

Yes, the show will be photographed and digital copies made available to buy. Further details will be released nearer the time.
