Alice Grayson – junior ballet, modern & tap

Alice started her dance training at the age of 3 in Sheffield, eventually moving to Hype Dance in 2012.
Throughout her time at Hype she has trained in several styles including Ballet, Contemporary and Modern Jazz.
She also holds vocational exams in Ballet and Modern Jazz as well as teaching qualifications in Ballet and Modern Jazz with the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA).
Alice is currently working through several of her tap exams with the view to taking her IDTA Tap teaching exam in the near future.

Dance is an amazing outlet for emotions and creativity. I love working with children, their creativity knows no boundaries. I am continuously surprised and amazed by their work and ideas.

In 2023, working closely with Anna Olejnicki, Alice produced, choreographed and performed her own work, “Metamorphic Jigsaw”. Alice holds an Autism teaching qualification and continues to look at the therapeutic applications of dance, particularly around applying it to mental health and neurodiversity. Alice also holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and a level 3 Safeguarding certificate.
Alice leads some of our Junior IDTA syllabus classes in Ballet, Tap and Modern Jazz including, preparatory, primary and Grade 1 & 2. She also leads our Junior Competition team and has danced around the country in many different venues including Northern Ballet, and she continues to take classes at Hype, and still performs when she can.
