Summer News & Events
We may be stopping our junior classes for the summer but this doesn't mean that we're getting a break ourselves!
Our adult classes will still be running throughout the summer (please check the summer dance class timetable for full details) and we have a whole host of exciting projects and events that we'll be working on over the summer.
Summer Dance Workshops
Stick & Move - Breeze Festival
Sarah is also delivering a series of dance sessions for us aimed at young people in Leeds that is leading towards a dance performance at Trinity, Leeds. This is part of the Breeze Festival of Arts and is a dance and boxing project with the performance taking place in a boxing ring specifically set up outside the Apple Store in the centre.
Performances will take on place Saturday 30th July at 11:00, 12:30, 14:00 & 15:30 with boxing sparring demonstrations in between and hopefully a mini fashion show too (we are still working on plans for this though).
It will be a great experience for the young people taking part getting the opportunity to work with a professional dancer and boxer and then performing in front of all those people and we're exciting to have been invited to take part.
Mode: Default - Festival of the Mind
Another exciting project we are working on is in conjunction with the University of Sheffield and is part of the Festival of the Mind. The objective of this piece is to communicate the latest research at the University of Sheffield into what happens in Alzheimers disease in the brain to the wider public through a dance performance at the Festival of the Mind 2016.
Anna, our artistic director will be creating the piece and will be in rehearsals with Lauren, Sarah, Jemma & Lucy at the beginning of September with the finished piece being performed in the Speigletent at the top of Fargate, Sheffield on Sunday 25th September at 11.15, 13.15 and 16.15.
